INTERESTED IN JOINING US?

So you like the smell of grease paint, you are ready to go out there and break a leg, you enjoy the theater, you love movies, well this might be the place for you.  We are a group of 55+ Senior Citizens living in the famous Cypress Lakes Village Community , Just north of Lakeland.  Well living here you are already living the part.  We are all performers and this is a way to show it off to the rest of us.

We are here to HAVE FUN!  Seriously, very few of us started out with acting skills and we all have winged it until we understood it.  Now we are refined great actors, ready for our own Broadway Show…NOT!  OK, that stretched it just a tad bit, but the FUN part is real.

To join us, you don’t have to act, but you can work back stage, you can join the production team, you can sell tickets, you can assist with set-up, you can usher, you can build our flyers, you can assist in lights and music.  There are a ton of ways to contribute.  Below are the major areas we love getting assistance in.

BE A PERFORMER

Be a part of the action on stage!  This does take some dedication, as we rehearse each play for about two to three months, at least once a week.  Then we are there at showtime to put our best foot forward.  We try to know the script and what we need to do on stage, but when we have issues we wing it and have fun.  Some of our best times on stage are with broken dialog.  It is fun to be a performer.

ASSIST BACKSTAGE

For those that don’t want to learn the lines, but have to understand the timing and all other aspects of the play, this may be your gig.  All backstage workers, move sets around and get the stage ready for every part of a performance.  You need to be at every rehearsal.  But the best thing is your costume will be wearing all black.

ASSIST IN PRODUCTION

Production Assistance is needed everywhere.  We need people to work lights, video, audio and other production aspects.  We need a group of people to sell tickets, set up the auditorium, to usher people to their tables, and to assist with snack service.  If your available as a stand in, that can also help out.  We utilize a big crew with every production.
